The Edge of the Wold

Extraterrestrials with extremely long legs and tiny heads were at the bottom of our drive today. It looks like there are three of them, but the one on the right is actually two aliens inhabiting the same shadow. They were debating what to do about the wall (out of shot) between us and our neighbour which has been knocked down by a departing tradesman’s van turning too sharply left onto Main Street. It was the second time it had been demolished within a few months, having never once been touched in the previous 28 years I have known it.

One of the aliens in the third shadow was inspired, and came up with a plan, which the other alien in the third shadow will now execute to the usual very high standard that he achieves with all his building work. This met with the approval of the second alien from the left, who has equally high standards which must at all times be met. While the alien on the left was more interested in taking photographs of weird shadows in the same frame as the church steeple.

A new month, and it was a glorious morning. There was too much to do to allow me a walk up the hill first thing. Then in the afternoon there was Bat & Chat to go to (which I missed last week due to the dental emergency). It was such good exercise I didn’t need a walk at the end of the day. Numbers are building, there were 11 of us today plus the two coaches. And a great time was had by all.
