Oak Yaffle

We hear the green woodpecker 'laughing' often and I sometimes see it flying up and away from anting. Mishka and I were sitting down the field this afternoon when I spotted it landing on a distant power pole. I got a couple of shots and then it flew bouncily to an oak by the brook. I was surprised that I managed to get an image of it from such a long way away. I love the shape of these bare oak branches.
