Ipoh day out

Slept really well and was up first but we were later for breakfast. As this is a resort hotel it is massive catering. Feels a bit industrial.

There was a bit of a wait before everyone gathered and we set off for the Gua Tek Look Tong cave temple. We'd last been there 7 years ago, just before Mei Mei was born. Last time it was calm and uplifting, today - well long to get in to park and then loads of people. #1 son and I walked through to the gardens and sat on a stone, chatting, trying to keep out of the sun.

Eventually met up with the others in the long queue for the pedalos. Then a slow walk back to the car and back into Ipoh City for a late lunch. It was mega busy. We ended up in the noodle place that the carry out came from last night. It was supposed to be chicken rice so I just had the fried chicken and bean sprouts.

We went back to the hotel and the parents and sisters went to the pomelo farm. We went to the pool though Olivia had to wait as her swimming clothes were upstairs. Eventually there were 6 of us in the pool but no sign. I had a walk round the lake. Saw a monkey but no monitor lizards.

Later back up to floor 12 for the lunch leftovers, the Ipoh speciality curry bun and my specially ordered takeaway, same as last night. Also custard and pineapple tarts and I had beer.

I was really tired, don't know why so it was an early night.
