Red letter day

The aubretia on the walls of Humshaugh flowers for many months and the first flowers have just opened.

This morning I was able to don two pairs of socks and my walking boots! I have been waiting for this day. I did a short walk: on the road to Haughton Mains Farm; back across the (slightly muddy/very muddy fields)!

The rain started later in the afternoon.
