Another Stanley. Leitz Summicron 50mm DR

This is the second wooden marking gauge by Stanley U.S.A. in my little collection, model 47-065 which I bought brand new in about 1986.  It is a direct descendant of yesterday's gauge, and still made of beech.  Stanley has made some changes though, like the brass insert on the reference surface to minimize wear, a metal thumb screw instead of the boxwood, and a change to the shape of the square shaft and head.  They also cheapened the production by stenciling the markings instead of stamping into the wood.  Predictably, the ink has worn away over the years.
