Riverside Views……

This morning Maisie and I walked downstream and headed for the downtown area of the Riverside Park.
This view is looking upstream from the footbridge known as the “Crinoline Bridge”. A lovely sunny early morning with a brisk westerly wind. Alas during the night another wildfire occurred in the Waikari Valley, an hour’s drive from Christchurch. Folk in the area were evacuated for safety sake. This fire and the Port Hills fire caused considerable anxiety. The worry was the predicted strong nor-west winds. Later in the day. … A cool southerly change is expected late this evening. It would be wonderful if the wind change was accompanied by some rain.
