This sweetheart was in a local store on Fillmore.  A regular but not part of the shop, she was behind the counter, in front, everywhere, greeting all with kindness and curiosity until her person was ready to go.

Bookstore wisdom (Forest Books, Browser Books)  - We were also in another favorite Kinokuniya Books but they were suffering from several large leaks from their roof!  To say I felt for them is an understatement.
Restaurant manga.  The ramen place we like to go to has shelves and shelves of manga, the shelves all have a warning label that some content might not be suitable for children - I inadvertently chose one of those, it was pretty funny.
