Memory

I feel a lot of sadness about what is happening in Gaza and what it says about the world’s complicity and lack of sufficient and sustained compassion. I can tell these feelings are sitting heavy as I’m very drained even though it’s been a much lighter working week than usual.

I had a Swahili lesson during which some of my old Portuguese verb tables slipped out of the book. Whilst the conjugation of verbs is technically much more complicated in Portuguese than Swahili, five additional years of memory cell deterioration lead Swahili to be sinking in much more slowly. By this rate when I hit my 50s I won’t be able to remember my own name.
