Blooms and butterflies

Tuesday
Last week, I had been planning a visit up to Columbus, to view their orchid display at at Franklin Park Conservatory, but then I discovered their butterfly exhibit was opening at the weekend, so we postponed it to this week so we could do them both. They were both such a treat for the senses. The most spectacular butterfly is the Blue Morph, shown in my thumbnail photo, a large butterfly, and when it’s wings are closed they are shades of brown and cream, but when they open, they are this bright iridescent blue, and watching them in flight is just amazing. It’s so wonderful being retired, and able to go during the week, when it was relatively quiet. The orchid display was gorgeous - I have put a second collage in extras. It was such a beautiful way to spend a dismal day outside. We had a snack, then went back for a second look. When we finally left, we drove to the riverfront, and had a walk along the rivers edge - the Scioto River. Then it was time to drive home. A great day out!
