Young Moorhen

I am pretty sure this is a Moorhen chick as it seems to have those characteristic Green legs ? It seemed reluctant to stay in the water so took refuge on a partly submerged branch to have a preen!
We have quite a selection of Ducks and Bird life in what is a Historic Moat,feed from springs in the surrounding hills. The original site was a Pre Roman Settlement which then became a semi Monastic settlement complete with 'Fish farm'.It is one of the few ''Horse Shoe'' moats in the country?
