Dismount

I will never understand this. You're leaving a shared use path (this is the new bit from NRIE to Niddry), to go onto the road, where you're entitled to cycle, and you're told to dismount. I mean, if you were on a side road you wouldn't have to dismount to leave that side road to join the main road....

It's almost as if someone thinks it's safer to walk across the road than cycle. Which will have you moving more slowly and having to re-mount your bike back on the road.

Oh, and there's a drain to catch your tyres in, or slip on in the wet, just off the down ramp. Best practice? This is brand new provision remember - just so utterly pointless. We have so far to go.
