Dydd Gwyl Dewi

March seems to have been a long time coming, though surely just one extra day in February shouldn’t have made that much difference?

There’s sunshine today - and showers, but after a feeling of spring warmth yesterday, it seems distinctly chilly when I wander round the garden looking for flower blips for today. Not only is it Flower Friday, but it’s also St David’s Day - Dydd Gwyl Dewi, so I really have to go for daffodils, and fortunately we have plenty of the miniature variety.

Other than that, we continue on the long drawn out process of ‘Spring Cleaning’ - an annual task that seems to have become biennial. The kitchen seems to have taken two weeks - but then we have approached it one cupboard at a time. Today we start on the lounge, including the near-impossible task of changing the covers on our sofas. Removing the ‘old’ covers is relatively easy, but fitting the ‘new’ ones requires patience, strength and mental agility - qualities I’m currently very short of. Logic states these covers have to fit, but it’s only after several false starts that we finally manage it.

Neither of us can face starting on the second sofa - that’s a task for tomorrow ….
