Busy Sunday

The Meadows were a hive of activity today when the Meadows Marathon , Half Marathon 10K, 5K and relay took place along with the usual casual football and handball games. Endless runners in every degree of exhaustion passed the foot of the gardens on the wide loop around the Meadows- 18 laps for the Marathon. It exhausts me just thinking about the endless repetition - much better to have a single trajectory!

It being Sunday, the wise coven of Merry Widows gathered as usual in the sun at Söderberg while outside on the square the little bambinos did their best with the energy of the very young to trip up passing pedestrians with their tiny bikes, scooters and ball kicking.

There was a short and surprise visit in the afternoon from the Glasgow family who were on a return train safari from the Dear Green Place to Dunbar changing trains in Edinburgh. They arrived in tandem with daughter #1 so there was quite a short party with a run on tea and my orange Club biscuits. They couldn’t stay long as they had an organised shopping delivery back home, but it was so lovely to see them all, even if was only an hour.
