Before the Split

Major plant work today. The huge leaves of our big Washingtonia Robusta palm got caught in the curtains the other evening and the whole thing came crashing down. Just a wee bit of a mess then: time to prune! That and the smaller (name forgotten) palm have shared the same pot since they were babes in arms, thirty odd years ago. Not anymore - they’ve been savagely parted! The wee guy is now standing proud in its own pot but the other looks a bit sad, now minus half its root ball and most of its leaves. Happily it’s not called Robusta for nothing and before too long should be spreading new leaves and looking good again.
We also attacked the yukka that lives down by the street door and had grown to ceiling height. It’s top part is now sitting in a krug glass full of water and will be pushing out new roots before you know it.
