Another day, another ferry ride……

…. this time up the harbour to Parramatta as we had a spare day between the usual medical appointments. It was actually my first ever trip all the way up the river (harbour) on the Rivercat and I was amazed by the diverse scenery ranging from mangroves to harbourside mansions, spectacular views and unfortunate high density architecture resembling the suburbs of soviet era Moscow.
The blip is of the Gladesville Bridge opened in the early 1960s. In frame is a GPS eight in training for the big race in a couple of months.
For the historically inclined (like me) the southern piers of the old Gladesville Bridge, demolished in 1964, are visible at the extreme right. Up until 1930, this was the only bridge across the harbour until almost as far west as Parramatta.
Extra: after the ferry, the flicks!
