506 Ducks

Today has been a very nice day indeed. C&C head off around 10.30, so I dragged myself out for a 5 mile run before it got too hot. Mum came over whilst I was still recovering and bright red, and we went to the Deli for our regular lunch date. We then indulged in an ice cream and walked along the river; today was the Rowhedge Regatta, so we found a bench and sat in the sunshine watching the boats and the ridiculousness of 506 yellow ducks being chucked in for the duck race. We were entertained by some men in three boats attempting to scoop as many of the ducks out of the river once they'd crossed the finish line. Alas no one fell in. We then head over to Mum's to feed the tomatos and sit in the garden for a couple of hours, which was just lovely. I'm now home watching Glastonbury, drinking tea, with the door open and the sounds of the covers band from across the river drifting in. Maybe it's finally summer?
