Sheared

The litany of things that need to be sorted continues.

The electrician’s visit was on time at 8am and was positive.

After a neighbour’s visit at lunchtime and an afternoon meeting at church I decided to cut the grass. The weather was mild, the rain had ceased for a day or so and it was a chance to tidy up.

One fifth of the grass had been cut when the electric lawnmower stopped working. The motor was still turning but the blades were not.

Having disconnected it from the power I removed one of the covers thinking the belt had come off. No. The shaft driving the belt wheel had sheared.

So guess where I am going tomorrow morning!
