A view from Jeanneb

North West to South West!

We are now in Bath!

Looks lovely and sunny in this picture but a few minutes before there had been hail! The girls are wearing my cardigans and I’m pleased to see they fit.

Something else you may notice is that the big Beech tree that was at the side of the garage has gone. Sadly it was encroaching on the garage so it had to go. I don’t like to see trees come down but it has opened up the view over Larkhall and Bath.

Last night we walked into Glenridding for our anniversary meal. We stayed dry but obviously went in waterproof coats just in case, we felt a bit incongruous walking into the ‘Inn on the Lake’ especially when I discovered I’d booked fine dining in the Lakeview restaurant! Never mind it was a lovely meal and they were very welcoming. Luckily it was moonlit when we walked back as there were no street lights and it’s not too busy on the road right now with the Kirkstine Pass closed for the whole of March. We’d walked over 25,000 steps by the end of the day!

Up and off before 9.00 am this morning. It was wet and murky again and very cold. It was brightening as we drive along Ullswater but there was fresh snow on the fells. Extra

Sunny for most of the journey but with spasmodic heavy wintry showers. John was running 50km on Dartmoor today and had every kind of weather! He has run for Young Lives  v Cancer as one of their neighbours children sadly has bone cancer. Well done John and Jeff, a friend and neighbour.

Grace had a hen do starting early afternoon (she was supposed to be on a boat at 1.15 but missed it)! So the girls were at Granny Sue’s when we arrived. She gave us a welcome cup of tea.

We’ve been playing a game I brought them and reading new books and now it’s bedtime. Don’t know when we’ll see the others, some time tomorrow I think! Lovely to be here anyway.
