This is my friend Andy, having found a great vantage point to watch the Under 15s play this morning. Unfortunately our faster bowlers were given a fairly savage lesson, and Headley amassed a huge total of 198/3 in their 20 overs - with their top 3 batsmen all retiring after 50 runs. This is definitely the largest total our team has ever faced, and beat Headley's own record by 10 runs.

In reply, our batsmen did well, getting their heads down and trying to get a decent score on the board. James and Jake (Andy's son) both made 50's. Sonnumbertwo was unlucky to have been run out by a spectacular throw, and sonnumberone was very lucky not to have been given out the same way! We reached 152 in our 20 overs, but whilst the scorebook shows that we lost by 46 runs, the boys can take some real credit for having scored their highest ever total in reply to such a massive score.

Well done Headley - and well done Liphook - for a game played in a wonderful spirit. I guess it's easy to be generous when you've got such a large score on the board, but to see the Headley fielders run over to congratulate James and Jake when they retired was really lovely to see.
