Clapper Bridge over Wray Beck

From Wikipedia - "A clapper bridge is an ancient form of bridge formed from large flat slabs of stone.   They are often situated close to a ford where carts could cross. The word 'clapper' derives ultimately from an Anglo-Saxon word, cleaca, meaning 'bridging the stepping stones."

The Tuesday crowd did a circular walk from Wray Castle and ate in Joey's cafe .  Unfortunately the cafe was unusually busy for a Tuesday lunchtime  or rather we've got used to there not being loads of tourists around.   It must be the Easter holidays
