Monday morning - scenery to my left.

Every Monday morning I walk along this path between the castle and the cathedral.
It is fabulous really and I shouldn't take it for granted.
Quick history. It was originally constructed in the 1080s under William the Conqueror's reign. It is 113ft high and the walls are 12ft at the base. After a big siege in 1215 (bad King John) major reconstruction work left it with one round tower. It was passed on down though royals for centuries but now belongs to English Heritage. It is currently in need of restoration work but open to visitors.
