Six go to Robins Wood Hill

Today the six younger grandchildren, Eric 4, Buddy 4, Ruby 5, Isabella & Harriet 5, Hendrix 6, all went to Robins Wood Hill for Wild Child day organised by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. They were accompanied by myself, Daniel and Johanna and we all had a fabulous, if very muddy, day.
So much to do, including drumming, climbing on the 'assault course' type rope and log frame (frightening seeing the twins on there but they are just fearless). There is a  great slide with steps up to the top, but who wants to use the sissy steps when there's a perfectly good, very slippery, tarmaced bit to risk your life and limb on!
But the bit that really captivated them was the Pond Dipping. They were briefed on what they were going to do, how to keep safe, how to use the nets and plastic containers to put your catches in, how to identify different creatures that would be in the pond etc. They were fascinated by it all and, as you can see, Isabella was not averse to sticking her hand up to answer questions put to them.
A great, and educational, day for them. Oh, and I bought them all (and me) delicious ice-creams from the café situated there!. Extra  :-)
