Getting the sparkle back

Little sheep

Made by one of the ladies attending the same workshop as me, making our own fleece rugs, taught by Trish O'Meara of Wormit Woolies at Off The Rails Arthouse in Ladybank, Fife - another new venue for me. It was great fun and we ended up with "vegetarian sheepskin" rugs, i.e. no skin involved, essentially we created a felted backing to a fleece to keep it together. There are a couple of extras showing the rug at its early stage with layers of wool which will become the felt backing and at a late stage, looking more like a sheepskin rug. The process involved Fairy Liquid (no other detergent will do), lots of water (the floor gets a good clean) a spin dryer and throwing the rug hard onto the table, amongst other processes. I'll do another blip of the rug once it's fully dry and brushed up.
