KNOCKINAAM LODGE
It's an intimate 10 bedroom hotel with a great history to tell.
This historic hunting lodge which has featured in John Buchan’s The 39 Steps, was the boyhood home of Royal Navy submarine ace Lieutenant Commander Malcolm David Wanklyn VC, and played a pivotal role as the secret meeting place for Churchill and Eisenhower as they planned the D-Day landings.
Sat at this table for carrot & ginger soup, local salmon, fillet beef Yorks pud, with Jersey Royal potatoes, broccoli, asparagus, carrots followed by a pud or as I chose Scottish cheese board the coffee and petit fours. Taster portions but more than enough along with a small glass of red.
As the iPad only had room for one photo showing the crashing waves from the storm Kathleen I'll admit to borrowing the others from the website.
The meal was of course by course excellent.
