Transport Strike

Down early for a coffee and a brioche before heading over to the ferry ticket office. He informed us there was a strike in the afternoon. We knew there was a national transport strike, but had not realised it extended to the ferries.

As the strike only lasted four hours in the afternoon we decided we could work around it. We headed over to Bellagio. A bright sunny and warm day. Lunch in Bellagio followed by a walk around the village.

The ferries resumed service at 17:00. There were a lot of people in Bellagio. More than usual for the time of year I would have thought. We joined the queue early for the return journey. We were not sure how long it would be before the service returned to normal as the ships may have been out of position depending where they were when the strike started.

To my amazement a ferry appeared at three minutes past five, right on schedule. On arrival in Lenno we stopped off at the bar on the front for an Aperol. Then walked back to the apartment after picking up something for dinner at the supermarket.
