Muddy puddle

For some time we have wanted to create a wildlife pond in a wild area at the end of our garden

We went to buy a liner last weekend since when it hasn't stopped raining.  As a result the hole I dug has filled with water and didn't need a liner.  Jane dug some more sloppy mud out yesterday and today I  put the liner in and filled the edges with sand.   It was such a muddy job but I think it will be OK when the ground dries out and things start growing.  

As for wildlife,  so far I have rescued one wasp and one ladybird from drowning.
