Druskininkai

We enjoyed an almost spontaneous excursion to Druskininkai with A and Z today. We took the scenic route there, crossing the border in the forest and stopping in Kapciamestis to buy some rye bread. The car smelt wonderful as it was still hot from the oven.

We saw the fields of narcissi and occasional daffodils, which were quite splendid - the ruse for the trip. Then, we looked around the town which is quite arty and has a touch of class, with interesting architecture and statues dotted around. Being unfamiliar with the town, I was quite relieved to find the car again.

A nice day out and I have some herrings to remember it:-)
