Portrait of the Artist

This morning was the village spring fair although it started so early, and ended so quickly, the raffle was being drawn by the time we made it. Was tempted by the second-hand jigsaw stall. There the stallholder did a great sales job. Instead of coming away with one 500-piece puzzle, I bought a 1000-piece one, and one six-hundred-odd pieces - as well as the 500-piece - all for a fiver! They're all Gibsons brand, too! I've started the thousand-piece one straight away before I could be put off by the size.

Late afternoon we popped over to Family B's house, where little Miss B demonstrated her prowess on the monkey-bars, a new addition to their outdoor play area. Both children would spend all day every day outdoors if they could. Lovely to see them playing. LMB had harvested and washed the rhubarb from their garden, so I helped her turn it into a crumble.

The Young Master produced some artwork: at the bottom of the paper. Little Miss B added a portrait of the artist, top left. Do you like his curls, big grin, and stripy socks? (Since then he seems to have been drawing on himself and his sister - to her delight! Mrs B sent us a couple of photos! But they are washable pens. I'm guessing they'll be having a bath tonight.)
