It may have been wet, but we have had a super day exploring this part of Tasmania. Most of our day was taken up with a river cruise on the Gordon River. It made for a gentle day crusing the river, getting off at two different locations to explore the forests and hear more of the local history, and more about how prisoners were sent to remote islands of Australia.
Plus a super buffet lunch!
Our guide, on Sarah Island (extra No 1) was fabulous. A wonderful story teller….and then we went to see the production of “The Ship That Never Was” in a very quirky outdoor theatre (extra 2) and she was the star of the show- relating the story that her father had written.
This play is the longest running play in Australia - now over 30 years. It was educational, funny, included audience participation (which for once was fun!) and everyone enjoyed it.
