The last time I cleared a section of wall for some bike hooks it was usurped by a new upright freezer. Having shifted the shelving units about a couple of months ago, I put one up today, to hang the lighter bike from, to see if a: the wall can cope and b: the hook can cope; they were relatively cheap so might bend when faced with a steel, mudguarded, racked, dynamohubbed bike which might also have a cable lock in a saddlebag. The wall might object to things like bike hooks as they probably didn't expect anyone to be able to lift the bikes of the time onto them.
