The Weir at Parke

We went to Bovey Tracey this morning to meet up with Frances and the boys. We went to the play park first of all and after a little while I went off for a walk up the River Bovey and into Parke which is a National Trust property.

There were a lot of people about as you'd expect on a weekend with dry weather but I managed to take a few photos. I liked this view of the weir and slowed the shutter a little to capture the movement of the water as it goes down. This is the point where the leat takes water off into the town to power the mills in town (there were three, just one now with its water wheel turning).

I wandered back along the river and got back to find the others who had moved on to a nearby cafe for coffee and cake.
