Sally Mair - Loving life

The big one

Or at least the biggest so far!....
We've had a lovely day today for C's big birthday. I can't believe we've reached this age already. Ali and the girls came round this morning and Josie enjoyed opening presents with her grandpa. She'd made him a card and spent absolutely ages on it.
We went out to the a gallery of Modern Art for a look around and a bowl of soup for lunch, bumping briefly into blipper Hazelh while there.
This evening we went out to Cafe Andaluz for dinner, there were 11 of us including Bonnie. Both families and C's cousin who lives nearby joined us. Katy has contacted me and between us we'd contacted lots of C's friends from over the years and asked them for some music tracks which reminded them of him and any comments they wanted to send.
She's made an album cover and a track list and put it all in a CD box. She hasn't actually made the cd yet - he has Apple Music so doesn't really use CDs any longer, but it will make a lovely souvenir. She has made a play list of the tracks though which she's shared with him.We had a lovely evening, Katy had made this delicious raspberry and chocolate torte . The restaurant served it up for us and brought it in singing happy birthday as they did so. They couldn't have gone to more trouble.
We're all home fairly early - Eilidh actually popped out to her gymnastics class while we were at the restaurant and came back again afterwards - she has a competition coming up and needed to go over her routine. Tapas is such a good option for families.
