Ripon. Choir Gig

Backblip for Saturday 13/4.  We caught the bus to Bingley this morning and then boarded our coach to Ripon to sing at the cathedral. Luckily it was fine weather so we had chance to look around and went to a lovely restaurant for lunch before going to sing. Over 100 stalls inside the cathedral - gave in and purchased some artisan fig and walnut bread and some pasteis de nata.  A lady on one stall asked for details of our choir as her husband is fundraising to renovate the little church at Newby Hall and was looking for choirs to sing there. C our MD didn't have any business cards with him but told me to give her his email address and phone number.  It would be a lovely trip out, but not sure there is any room for any extra gigs this year.  It was lovely to sing in this beautiful cathedral and the audience seemed to appreciate the songs.  Main photo is a chamber choir which sang earlier, and in extras a collage of parts of the wonderful building. We had to set off home soon after singing and as we arrived back on Bingley the heavens opened.  As we walked to the bus stop our bus went through the lights and away.  Luckily it was only a short wait until the next one!  Refreshments taken in the local on the way up the hill - nice to see some of the locals we don't come across when we are there on a Wednesday.
