Trixie's Adventures

First day back in St Ives

Talk about busy?........................ You wouldn't believe how busy we have been today............ My human loves it when she's busy.

I went for my morning walk down on 'Porthmeor Beach' and then around the town. It was a bit cold and definitely not very sunny, but as the day has gone on, it has warmed up considerably.

Ann's plan for today was to paint the decking, but it was too cold for that, so she just weeded our sun terrace and took down all the solar powered lights that are no longer working.

She still doesn't understand why all our solar powered lights, that we have had in Edinburgh, for the last 3 years, are still shining brightly and yet solar powered lights that we have in St Ives only seem to last 6 months???? Must have something to do with the damp sea air down here. Grrrrr...........

Went to 'Home Bargains' in Hayle to look for some new ones, but they only had 'warm white' and Ann prefers 'cool white'.

Went to Asda. I had to wait in the car again?!! But then I got a walk around 'Copper House Pool'. Yay! It was pretty windy though and there were NO bunnies lurking around in the prickly bushes.

Home and I had snooze time while Ann went off to 'Friday Afternoon Club' where she consumed a couple of glasses of wine.

She's home now. She's fed me and she's now back in 'RANT' mode......................

We let out our house here to holidaymakers when we're in Edinburgh. We've been doing it for almost 8 years now. It's worked well and we've made enough money from it to survive. (Apart from during Lockdown of course). However it now seems that holiday makers are becoming more and more demanding (no we don't have a hot tub) and are expecting more and more extras. We have the bestest housekeeper in the world. Thank you Julia.

BUT.....................even the bestest housekeeper in the world can't deal with every single little issue that stupid holiday makers create.

In 'extras' we've added a photo of mildew that is currently on the walls above our staircase.  Obviously my human is going to have to pay to have this removed.  My human has owned this house for 22 years and has never ever had a problem here before.  Holidaymakers  just don't care.

People seem to think that people that own two homes are mega rich??!!

In the meantime, it's bedtime for us.
