The steam locomotive Mallard one of the LNERs A4 class designed by Sir Nigel Gresley, with Driver Joe Duddington at the regulator and fireman Tommy Bray at the shovel, broke the world speed record for a steam locomotive by attaining 126mph at Stoke bank on the Eastcoast mainline.

Sadly due to work commitments I cannot get to the National Railway Museum in York to Blip Mallard herself so here is the next best thing!
