Light Challenge

Good light is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand nice light makes for a clear image with a well lit subject. It gives form to objects and depth and texture. It enables faster shutter speeds and sharper images.

But those pesky highlights are time consuming to deal with. All the branches and twigs were blown out and white. Even on the bird's breast and face. My go to method is a brush with negative exposure and highlights, maybe whites. Then I can keep the image bright.

Wondering whether a polarizer might help?
