ANZAC Day in Pleasant Point

This morning I went to the 8am Anzac service in Pleasant Point. It was in the local Hall and was packed with people standing. It was so meaningful especially when they read out the names of all the locals and their ages that had been killed in both world wars.
The blip is the pipe band playing around the war memorial prior to the service
When I came home I watched a very moving documentary of one of our past All Blacks visiting the overseas war cemetery’s and placing poppies on the graves of all All Blacks killed in the world wars
My father in law fought in the 1st world war in France so having been thinking of him a lot today. His great grand daughter and her three little children were there this morning.
We are lucky that we have these wonderful services every year on the 25th of April. 109 years ago today our Australian and New Zealand troupes landed on the beach at Gallipoli with incredible loss of life
We Will Remember Them
