Dryopteris Dilatata - Broad Buckler Fern

The ferns are looking fabulous right now ...
An early session on the plot, compost bin emptied, contents spread over & dug in on two of the beds. 2 short rows of beetroot sown plus a trench of peas. Rain forecast over the weekend so it was good to get something in the ground, obviously put defences in place after as the pesky pigeons and resident cock pheasant are just waiting for their Spring diet supplements.
Gardening in a short sleeved tee shirt at 6.45am. Walking Indie 2 hours later with added jumper, & jacket in a very chilly breeze. Spring is so fickle.
Mum & I drove out to Trago Mills, collected compost in the drive through, then had a mooch in the store. Picked up a great Wordsearch book for Mum which she was up for having a go :-), a pair of Hush Puppies for hubby, normal RSP £72, Trago price £34.99. I bought seeds for myself, 2 varieties of carrot, fancy beetroot, Nasturtium, Limnanthes douglasii - Poached egg plant, for attracting wildlife on the plot, & perpetual spinach.
Back at Mum's, made her lunch, then headed home to Chudleigh.
Bit of admin this afternoon.
Wishing you all a great weekend :-)
