More Wildflowers

Today I joined TM for a TA shift at Bedford Reservation.  It was a beautiful 66 degree day to be out hiking.  We took the Forbes Woods trail to Hawthorn Parkway and back and never saw another human.

Above are a flowering river hawthorn, bluebells, and narcissus in the wild.  We saw a few patches of the latter along the large creek.  In the small creek, we saw several salamanders sunning upside down.  TM poked them gently with his pole to be sure they weren't dead. And in the woods near the trailhead were several large deer.  Most of the leaves weren't out yet, but there were lots of hawthorns of various kinds in flower.  On the trail we came across two piles of long-haired fur, tan and white. We think it was either from a coyote or deer. Someone has a huge bald spot.

Happy Friday!  Backblips added...
