Lala's Journal

Mud

Despite the grey early morning, it wasn’t too bad until about 4pm.
Last evening I got a call from my ex next door neighbour. She moved several times since those days, although still local to where I used to live. Her husband was ill for almost five years, but beat all the expectations and lived longer than B, passing away last August. She was staying with her sister in a  holiday camp just a couple of miles away, and wanted to visit today. We had a lovely time, catching up on our families and life in general, and yes there were some tears. It’s the mutual understanding that can be both therapeutic and commiserative. Once the first anniversary has passed, friends and acquaintances assume we are ok now, and life just has to go on. Ours doesn’t though, and I suppose everyone is different with the time it takes to carve their new niche alone.
