Skeppet - The ship

We had a fine afternoon centred around seeing a play at our local theatre. The play was excellent, if rather harrowing and comes from a book which has been translated into English. "Jag for ner till bror", in English, My Brother. The writer is Karin Smirnoff.
Jan has written a lot about the play so I won't repeat it all, especially as I agree with everything she writes here on Blipfoto.
After the theatre we went to a relatively new restaurant in town, specialising in steak. We shall eat there again! As we walked back to the car we passed what used to be a strange restaurant; Skeppet - The Ship. It was in an excellent position, right on the harbour, by the bridge, but there was always a strange feel about the place. One heard tales of staff badly treated, slightly dubious managers, disputes over the rubbish etc.
Anyway, it's fine position finally caused its demise because the new bridge, with associated changes to the road plan, meant it had to go. It is now being demolished and my foggy evening picture shows part of that demolition site. I hope the willow gets to survive because it seems to be home to at least two magpie nests.
In a few weeks the harbour will be full of summer boats and the main guest harbour is right here. Hopefully the demolition will be completed before the tourists arrive!
