Pleach

Patches of seaside daisies (erigonum glaucus) and other flowers provide a colourful foreground to the waves swirling around the rugged coastline with high cliffs and rocks and the blue Pacific beyond.  It would have been good to have had much longer to walk along the trails at Lands End with views towards the Golden Gate Bridge with several unfamiliar birds calling above.  Our tour guide then took us beside the long sandy Ocean Beach where it is too dangerous even to paddle due to rip currents.   We passed many people enjoying the sunshine in the beautiful 5km long Golden Gate Park and Botanical Gardens before stopping to admire the extensive view over San Francisco from Twin Peaks.  We had started by crossing the GG Bridge and been fortunate to have clear views unlike the following two days when fog obscured it.
