Lambing time .

Despite the weather forecast predicting a high chance of rain we have had a dry and sunny day .

At 7.30 this morning we had a video call from early bird Isaac and his two little early risers , a bit of a surprise but a lovely way to start the day .

The outdoors beckoned and much of the day has been spent outdoors on the homestead preparing pots, planting seedlings , rearranging and tidying .
Some of the sweetpeas will be spending their first night outdoors , the 2 tomato plants have been repotted and are in the little greenhouse , the gutters attached to the sunny spot on the gable end have been filled with soil ready for some lettuce to be planted out tomorrow, the apple blossom has been admired and the flowering plants bought yesterday are now in place . It feels very pleasant to have spent most of the day outside .
The day was nicely rounded off with one of our favourite walks over the hill near our house, for the first time in ages the air was clear enough for us to see the mountains of the Lake District to the north and the mountains of Snowdonia to the south west . The new lambs , still with their umbilical cords attached , are out and about .
Wishing everyone a pleasant week , elections for those of us dwelling in the UK this week . It’s always a relief when they are over .
