Bird in the bush

A stonechat hovering in a gorse bush, taken during my walk over Westbury Beacon on the Mendips earlier today, before it started raining too much.  By 9:30am the forecast rain could clearly be seen moving up over Glastonbury and as I started to feel the first few drops being blown in on the strengthening wind I decided to call it a day.

As you can see from the ISO, the light was pretty poor this morning, but you really can accomplish a lot with the careful application of noise reduction software nowadays.  (I suspect that this is one of those shots that will look better in large).

I've also given you an extra of a meadow pipit, sitting on the wall.
