Life through the lens...

Hide and seek.

It was our 6 monthly checkup at the dentist this morning. All OK . Thank goodness!

Then on to RSPB Fairburn Ings.
A much warmer day. Even got some sunshine.
Temp. 16C. Still needed a scarf.
Managed to park in the village centre ( only 4 parking places) then walked down The Cut to the river.
My Merlin app recorded a green woodpecker and kingfisher, but we didn’t see either.
However did spot a tree creeper but it was gone in seconds.
This grey heron was well hidden in the undergrowth but did see it catch a fish. Again difficult to photograph.

Then had a picnic lunch and drove to the other end of the Reserve, where we walked along Lin Dike.
This is where we saw the Spoonbill, cattle egrets, and great egrets last time.
Unfortunately today, although plenty of highland cattle, there were no egrets, or spoonbills.
Just Pochard, Mallard, Gadwall and Shell ducks. Distant swans and Canada geese.
Well that’s how it goes when bird watching.
However it’s a relaxing and peaceful place, and one we always enjoy.
