Tulips

BB wanted to go and watch his rugby team playing this morning – but he didn’t get up.  I assumed he had decided not to bother until he suddenly appeared, telling me we had to go and suddenly it was my fault we were running late!  When we got to the venue, you couldn’t move for cars.  I dropped him and told him he’d have to find his own way back.  I headed back home and had some breakfast!  TT had already headed out to go off to meet up with friends for a day of football and socialising.

BB appeared back sooner than I had expected – he was of course looking for some lunch.  I popped out and picked us both up some lunch, as the fridge was rather bare.  The shop was rather cleared out when I got there (and I wasn’t too late), so had to make do with whatever they had left.  He then went off to the local rugby 7s tournament – to help and to watch.

Meanwhile I was tidying and doing a few chores.  Later in the afternoon, I popped out for a few steps and then very late afternoon /early evening I went out for a run .  it was a really lovely evening, the day had brightened up and the light was just stunning.  I almost enjoyed my run.  There was no sign of BB when I got home.  In the end I ordered a couple of pizzas.  I popped out to collect them, then came home and watched The Zone of Interest – this film will stay with me for some time.  It won best sound at the Oscars, and it came to my attention around about that time, as I saw an interview with the “sound man” who was up for the Oscar.

The boys hadn’t returned by the time I went to bed.

The Council have planted bulbs on patches on grass around town – I initially thought they had just planted crocuses, but in fact there was a real mixture of bulbs which have flowered at different times.  A really interesting mix of blooms.  It’s the turn of the tulips to shine now.  I walked past this oil seed rape field this afternoon - which was glowing very brightly in the sunshine.
