Wanderings and meanders

Elizabeth Gaskell's House, Plymouth Grove, Manchester

The home where Elizabeth Gaskell wrote some of her most famous books. Today it was being used as a polling centre for local elections, but that had no impact on our visit to see the key rooms as they would have been used by the family and some exhibition spaces.

Wandered over to the Whitworth afterwards, some interesting community art projects underway and clearly a gallery bringing a wide range of people in to engage with art, as well as the gallery collections.

Beautiful sunny day, very warm.
