Kite flying at Hell's Mouth

Today has been very chilled.
We loafed about the cottage this morning as it was dreich outside.
The weather turned lovely and sunny though this afternoon so we headed off to the beach. We meant to go to Abersoch but missed the turning so headed for Hell's Mouth instead. We knew it was a dog friendly beach and also a surfers beach too.
It was gorgeous and relatively empty.
A couple of wickets of cricket were played. Cricket in our family involves an extra fielder to play fetch with gonzo to make sure he doesn't steal the ball.
It was then time to get the power kite out. I used to fly friends, and then my own power kite years ago. There's something about flying a power kite that is so calming, relaxing, and fun, and I love it. I really need to make more time for it.
Hopefully that will happen as Thom had his first time flying solo with the power kite. That's him in the photo flying it. He loved it, and managed to get a couple of turns in before he crashed it. I'm very proud of him and its one of those parenting milestones that is lovely to reach.
We headed back to the cottage for some more games before tea.
Forecast is looking great for tomorrow so think it'll be more beaches and trains.
