Enjoyment

H and A enjoying the breakers at Shandwick Beach on Friday night. It was quite a late evening swim - 7.30pm before we got in, as we were waiting for M and L, who had been to bodypump in Invergordon beforehand.

Beyond the breakers, the sea was bumpy, but extremely pleasant and very clear indeed. A real head clearer. And much needed.

This was the end of a very long day. We were away from home shortly after 5am, and had intended stopping for breakfast en route, as I had a Teams meeting to do at 8.45. As it was, we set off so early that we were already in Tain by just after 8.15am, after a very smooth run indeed, mainly in stunning weather. We saw the sun come up as we went across the bridge - a big red ball in the sky. There was some low cloud / inland haar just as we approached Inverness, but it was sunny again through Easter Ross. The Cromarty Firth was pancake flat and shimmering in the sunlight. So it came as something of a surprise to see the breakers much later on at Shandwick Beach.

Although my concentration was not the absolute best, I had a useful day of work at the dining room table, nearly finishing off a tricky job that I have to do each year that is due on Monday.
