Undeterred

We had planned a Yorkshire Dales/Cheese trip. Although the forecast was mist and drizzle, everyone was keen to continue . . . so off we set.

Along the Mallerstang Valley, stopping for the short walk to the waterfall, and then onto Hawes. Coffee, cheese scones and cheese tasting, then Wensleydale Cheese was purchased. Up through the hills to Ribblehead. Our two had been over the Viaduct but never been to it. Here they are setting off to walk to it, undeterred by the weather or the crowds who had gathered for a checkpoint of an Ultra Race.

Then to Settle and fish and chips and on to the Courtyard Dairy for cheese-tasting and purchasing. Ice cream in Orton on the way home completed the day.

Not quite - Joanne then set off for a run round the Pike - training for her own Ultra in Cornwall in a couple of weeks.

A good day despite the weather - such great company and cheese for supper. Time we opened some sparkling stuff!
